Company History

In 1977, Claydon Wholesale was formed by Tim and Mary Claydon. The company specialised in supplying jewellery and accessories to pharmacies. The company grew steadily every year and more pharmacy related product ranges were added as their customer base grew.

Scott and Ross Claydon formed Creative Max in 1998, and the mission was to import the same product categories as Claydon Wholesale, tailored to suit other retail sectors. In the first year the company won contracts with Avon Cosmetics and House of Fraser, amongst others.

By 2002 many of the brands developed within Creative Max gained increasing demand from the pharmacy sector, so the two companies merged.

In 2006 Creative Max was working in several joint ventures in China, and it became evident that our key customers wanted us to become even more direct, so the company began it's mission to form an organisation with operations in both Europe and Asia.

More recently Creative Max acquired Griptight, a baby feeding brand established in Birmingham, England, in 1885. The entire range is now to be produced in-house.

Creative Max Limited is now supported by companies in China, which are managed by Ross Claydon. Following several acquisitions in 2006 and 2007 we now have a rapidly growing manufacturing capability in the beauty accessory and baby feeding accessory market. We export to more than 30 countries and expect this to grow considerably.

Clients include many supermarket chains and large distributors throughout Europe, the USA and the Middle East.

The Creative Max branded product ranges cover facial and body beauty accessories, fashion hair accessories, bath and washing accessories, haircare accessories, baby feeding products and fashion accessories.

The only product category we are not involved with in-house manufacturing is fashion jewellery, although the range is all directly imported by us.

Where required, we produce own label ranges, display stands and offer merchandising services.

Clients in the UK include many high profile multiples and wholesalers. As we now trade on several different levels, we use this to our strength. We can offer flexible service whether clients wish to buy managed ranges from us in the UK, or be more involved with the production process.
